when you are on a diet what is it that tempts you most to give it up or if you succeed in your diet objectives what is it afterwards that tempts you to overeat and start putting on weight again?

long term successful weight loss is elusive for most people.
Whenever I am trying to watch what I eat, my husband brings me Godiva Chocolate....
That sometimes hurts the diet.....!

I used to be 350+ pounds. I had gastric bypass and lost almost 200 lbs.
I watch what I eat, stay away from lots of sugar, and try to exercise everyday.
But its very hard especially in times of stress...when my natural tendency is to run to the Danish Butter Cookies!

the reason for the phrase "in general" is that it may be the case that one or two close friends know how you feel, but others in general do not.
in my own case, one other witness knows, but no one else, so i would answer the survey question with a "no".

what is it about them that we find so attractive??

so, my marriage has been in trouble for some time.
my husband and i have totally different goals, and ideas of "partnership".
the last few months have been even more difficult than usual, he has been out of work, and not picking up any extra load around the house.

My ex-husband did something very similar to your husband...except my ex was meeting women and having sex. Reason # 1 he's the ex-husband.
If your husband has already taken this step to look outside of your marriage for fulfillment its over. I'm sorry.
I'd tell him within 30 days he needs to be out and if he's not....Kick his butt out of the house and change the locks. Then make an appointment with your doctor and get tested for STD's.
I'd also put a fraud alert on your credit report so that he is unable to take out anymore credit with your name attatched. Please protect yourself.
My ex-husband took out an AMEX and Discover in my name 2 years after we had been divorced.
On a happy note, I have a really wonderful husband and 2 lovely little boys and even with all of my husbands JW issues, I'd still put up with it anyday over my ex's cheating and lies.

in my experience, those who become jw's as adults (not born in) could be described as abusers or abusees.
more often than not, they have unresolved issues of abuse from their past and gravitate to the structure of the org to re-experience the controlling, abusive environment of their past as the victim or the perpetrator.
from what i've seen, the more these past abuse issues are dealt with, the less of a hold the org has on a person.
My mother in law was abused as a child. She said she was attracted to the WTS because the people seemed so perfect. She's been in since the 50's. Lately she's been talking about the lack of love in the congregation. I noticed her talk about this has also coincided with her being in therapy.
